Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH RAYMOND (RAY) LAFOND Suddenly, on Friday, November 24, 2000, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB, Joseph Raymond (Ray) Lafond, beloved husband of Audrey, passed away. Ray was born in St. Boniface on July 14, 1932. He worked for Imperial Tobacco for 38 years and retired out to Gimli in 1991 with his wife Audrey. He loved to spend his time outdoors in the summer in the yard or garden. Ray was also very efficient around the house, always looking for new projects to complete. He loved to golf, ice curl and floor curl, and a few afternoons in the winter months you could find him at the Legion playing pool with his buddies. Ray was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was a loyal friend. He gave much of himself and asked for little in return. He took special delight in his grandchildren. They were the light of his life. Besides Audrey, his wife of 38 years, Ray also leaves to cherish his memory his children, son Kevin; daughter Claudine and stepson Keith; grandchildren, Justin, Troy and Samantha; sister Margurite (Armand) Lambert of Winnipeg; two brothers, Henry (Jeanine) Lafond of Richmond, B.C. and Edward Lafond also in B.C. and sister-in-law Beverley (Bill) Temple of Gore Bay, Ont.; as well as many nieces, nephews and his many friends in Gimli and Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his mother Anne Maertens (1998) and his father Severe Sam Lafond (1989). The family would like to thank Dr. C. Chapnick and staff at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli for their caring and compassionate support. In accordance with Rays wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. KERRS FUNERAL CHAPEL was in care of arrangements; phone 943-6688.
