ANNE PRAZNIK Peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2000, at the Betel Home, Selkirk, Anne Praznik passed away at the age of 92 years. Anne was predeceased by her husband Harry in January 1994. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Harold (Beth) of Selkirk, Gerry (Vivian), Rick (Janet) of St. Andrews, one daughter Elsie Sutton (Larry) of Kanata, Ont.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one sister Nellie Kibzey of Thunder Bay, Ont. Anne was born in Austria on October 30, 1908, and immigrated to Thunder Bay, Ont., as a young girl. She married Harry in 1926 in Thunder Bay and resided in St. Andrews until April 1998, when she became a resident of the Betel Home. Anne was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to have her children around her. The door was always open with the smell of something cooking. Anne was a hard worker alongside Harry with their market gardening. She was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Church for many years. Prayers will be said on Sunday evening, December 17 (tonight), at 7:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Gonor, Man., with Fr. Harry Oliynek officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Betel Home for their loving care during her residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 4G2. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
