SARAH ELIZABETH STEPHEN Peacefully on January 4, 2001, at Concordia Place Care Centre, Sarah Elizabeth Stephen, widow of the late James David Stephen passed away at age 78 years. Beth was born October 16, 1922 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Robert and Elizabeth Tibbs. She came to Canada in 1927, along with her older brother Robert and married James David Stephen on July 1, 1944. Beth leaves to mourn her two children and their families, Nola Effrat, husband Andrew and grandson Jonathon of Massachusetts; son David Alexander wife Kathy MacCallum, grandsons Taylor and Hunter of Sidney, B.C. Beth was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim in August 1996, by her parents Robert and Elizabeth Tibbs, and by brothers, Bert and David. She is survived by a sister Deborah Currie (George) and brother William A. Tibbs (Doris May). She also leaves sisters-in-law, Sylvia Tibbs of Transcona and Audrey Tibbs of Edmonton, Alta. A private family graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Barbara Barnett on Friday, January 12 at 12:30 p.m. at the Transcona Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
