Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEKSANDER KUREC Peacefully, on Thursday, February 8, 2001, Aleksander Kurec, passed away at Central Park Lodge, at the age of 77. Surviving are his children, son Tony of Toronto and daughter Zina of Winnipeg, their mother Maria, and grandson Jesse. Aleksander was born in Byelurus in 1923. He fought in the Second World War for the Polish Army. He was extremely proud of his participation in the battle of Montecasino, Italy in 1944, where along with Allied Forces, won one of the fiercest battles of the war. After the war he settled in England, and, in 1957, emigrated to Canada and settled with his family in Winnipeg. He worked at Motor Coach Industries for over 25 years and was a proud supporter of the New Democratic Party. Aleksander resided at Central Park Lodge - Parkview Place for the past four years. His family wish to thank all the staff for making his stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Also, special thanks to Barb Grand and Heather Morrison of CPL and Dr. Andrew McDiarmid of St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate communication during the past few weeks. A private family service followed by cremation was held at Neil Bardal Inc.
