Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONINA KURIATA On Saturday, March 31, 2001, with family at her side, Antonina Kuriata died at the Victoria General Hospital. She was born in Rudnia Bobrowska Poland on November 11, 1924. Antoninas memory will be cherished by her nieces, Kristine Kuriata, Wpg., Carol (Tom) Ackerman and children, Matthew and Lauren, Edmonton; nephew Mark Kuriata, Wpg.; cousins, Krystyna Pawluk (Ed) and children, Michael and Tom, Wpg., Alina (Alex) Bandrowski, Mississauga, Ont., Edward Kondratsky, USA; sister-in-law Lydia Kuriata, Wpg., nieces, nephews, cousins and sister-in-law in Poland and many friends in Canada and Poland. She was predeceased by her parents, Piotr Kuriata and Rose Lach, her beloved husband Zygmunt (1980) five brothers, Wladislaw, Ignace, Edward, Antonio, Stanislaw and one sister Victoria. She was the youngest child and the last member of this family. Antonina and her husband Zygmunt immigrated to Canada in January, 1965. She was employed in the garment trade, as a sewing machine operator, from 1965 to her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the parish of the Holy Ghost Church, for the past 36 years. A lifetime member of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society, Golden Seniors, an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 246 Ladies Auxiliary and was on the executive of this organization for a number of years. In 1993, received Life Member status from the Royal Canadian Legion, Manitoba and N/W Ontario Command, Ladies Auxiliary. The family would like to express deep appreciation and thanks to the nursing and medical staff involved in her care in the I.C.U. and on Unit 5, Victoria General Hospital. Thanks to a special caregiver, Donna, also to the Community Home Care staff, who supported her at home prior to her hospitalization. Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will take place at the Holy Ghost Cemetery on North Main Street. Active Pallbearers will be Mark Kuriata, Edward Pawluk, Jan Pietrowski, Marion Kyda, Joe Samush and Frank Dranez.
