ENID STEWART On Wednesday, July 18, 2001, Enid Stewart of Franklin, MB, widow of Carl Stewart suddenly passed away in the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB after a short illness. Enid was born in Oak River, MB on January 3, 1924, the third daughter of Howard and Nellie Greenaway. Enid received her education in Oak River and Franklin then at Success Business College in Winnipeg. Employed by the Canadian Bank of Commerce, Enid became one of the first female front line tellers for the bank. On May 15, 1943 Enid married Carl Stewart and lived in Dorval, PQ and Comox, BC. After the war, Enid and Carl settle on the Stewart family farm in Franklin where she spent her remaining years. A loving and caring person, Enid spent years tending first to an ailing mother in law and in later years her mother and son. Always active in the community where she lived, she was post mistress for over 24 years, but Enid still managed time for the things she loved. A curler to be reckoned with she was more than once a runner up at the provincial championships, and should you suggest any type of card game she was ready. Dearly beloved she will be sadly missed. Predeceased by her parents; an infant son in 1945; her husband in 1984; her son Jim in 1995; and sister Elaine in 1996. She leaves to mourn her loving daughter Lynn; son-in-law Bryan; and her beloved grandsons, Sean and Marc; sisters, Beth and Beryl; and her sister-in-law Eleanor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Neepawa on Monday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. and Whites Funeral Chapel will be in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
