DORIS EILEEN FERGUSON (nee WILLIAMS) With great sadness, we announce that Doris passed away peacefully on the morning of August 16, 2001 at the age of 85. Doris was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1991; her brothers Bill and Jack: her sister Marjorie and her parents. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Deborah (Barry) Phillips and her son Brett (Janis) Ferguson. Her grandchildren, Kelly and Kassey-Lee Phillips and Kenneth, Julia and Madeline Ferguson will dearly miss their grandma. Doris is also survived by her sister-in-law, Emily Williams and family of Redditt, ON. Doris was born in Portage la Prairie, on February 24, 1916 and moved to Winnipeg at a young age. She grew up on Kitson Street in Norwood. After marrying Bill and starting their family in Regina, the couple returned to Winnipeg and became long-time residents of St. Vital, residing on Bronstone Boulevard for over 30 years. Doris was a wife and mother first and foremost, and her life focus was the care of her family. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother. Her special smile will be treasured by all who knew her. During the last few years of her life, Doris struggled with Alzheimers disease. The family would like to thank the staff at the Golden West Centennial Lodge for the special care that was given to Doris during her time there. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20, 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery, followed by a gathering of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes a donation to be made in Doriss memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or to the charity of your choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
