Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN ISABEL AITKEN A resident of Winnipeg for over 70 years, Helen Isabel Aitken died Monday, August 20, 2001 peacefully in her sleep. She was 93. Mrs. Aitken was born September 10, 1907, in Strathclair, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg in 1929. She married James Thompson Findlay Aitken June 15, 1932. He died in August, 1971. They lived in North Kildonan, except for a brief period of time when they resided in Rapid City, Manitoba. She returned to Winnipeg in 1971 and has resided here since that time. Mrs. Aitken worked for the Department of Fish and Wildlife of the Manitoba Government, retiring about 1970. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Survivors include two sons, Terry Aitken of Vancouver, Washington, U.S.A., and Bruce Aitken, Calgary, AB; two grandsons, Scott Aitken and Kenneth Aitken, both of Seattle, Washington; and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by a sister, Grace Jespersen, Brandon, MB; and a brother, Donald McFaddin, Minnedosa, MB. A memorial service was held on Friday, August 24 in Thomson Funeral Chapels.
