EMILIA MILDRED LUCENKIW (nee NOSATY) Peacefully on Thursday, August 23, 2001 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Emilia Mildred Lucenkiw, aged 74 years. Milly was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Brooklands area. She was very involved in the Ukrainian community as a member of Lesia Ukrainka and the Ukrainian Womens Association of Canada, Kniahynia Olha Branch, where she held many executive positions and volunteered her time. Milly worked at the Ukrainian Voice Newspaper prior to her retirement. She had a passion for knitting, sewing, cooking and baking. Milly was a friendly, generous and outgoing person. We will all miss her wit and sense of humour. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Bill and Pam Lucenkiw (Michael, Holly and Ryan) daughter Lesia Lucenkiw (Jordan and Oksana (Shauna) Smook) brother William Nosaty and Lee Rigby; and many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Paul; parents, Matwij and Paraskevia Nosaty; and sister Anne Yurejchuk. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 28 at Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, Burrows Avenue at Sinclair Street, with Very Rev. Buciora officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Smook, Michael Lucenkiw, Greg Nosaty, Mark Klymkiw, Andrew Dobrowolski and Michael Dobrowolski.
