Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY ALVIN FIDLER It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Roy Fidler on August 24, 2001, at the age of 52 years, of Lockport, MB. Roy was predeceased by his father Mervin in 1970. He leaves to mourn his lifetime partner Darlene and loving daughter Marly. Mother Betty, Brother Ron (Teri) sisters, Karen (Bill) Sinclair, Debbie (Don) Paskaruk. His memory will be cherished by his nieces, Brooke, Melissa, Kayla, Brett; and nephew Devon. His extended family, Desiree (Bill), Destry (Nancy) and grandchildren, Sean and Kaitlin; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and friends. Roy was born in Selkirk on July 1, 1949. He lived in the Selkirk/Lockport area all his life. Roy worked at the Manitoba Department of Highways for 29 years, until his sudden death. Roy knew and appreciated the gift of a close and loving family. He enjoyed getting together with family/friends for a good game of cards. He also enjoyed going to the horse races, golfing and playing pool. Roy loved watching all sports on TV and playing Sports Select. Funeral service will be held at Gilbarts Funeral Home on Friday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Canon Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Cremation to follow and interment of ashes will follow at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Saunders, Laurie Clarke, Bill Lamb, Martin Pruden, Wayne Fidler, and Garfield Peebles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roys memory to a trust fund for daughter Marly at Assiniboine Credit Union, Garden City Branch, Winnipeg, Man. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
