BETTY ANNE SARCHUK (nee ROKOSH) March 13, 1939 - November 29, 2001 Betty Anne Sarchuk of Selkirk, MB, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, on November 29, 2001 at the Selkirk General Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her husband Maurice of 41 years; daughters, Lisa, Marci and Sandy; grandchildren, Stefan, Rachel, Teah and Lee; and sons-in-law, Peter Lundberg, Andre MacKinnon and Juan Cruz, who she welcomed and treated as her own. Betty is survived by her loving parents, John and Anne Rokosh; siblings, Eleanore Cybulsky, Denise Fawcett, Doug Rokosh and their families. Betty was born and raised in Selkirk and "lived" wherever she travelled. She developed many strong and enduring friendships. She enjoyed working in her garden, decorating her home and yard, sewing matching dresses for her young girls, and knitting pumpkin and strawberry hats for her grandchildren. She especially loved to travel, not to see places, but to visit and be with family and friends. Betty will be remembered for her love of family and the way she welcomed and accepted everyone into her home and life. Her special friend Pat, the "Birthday Club Girls", her adopted son and daughter, neighbors and co-workers were a source of strength and encouragement. In response to the warm thoughts, flowers, cards and visitors, Betty said, "I am truly blessed". A memorial service to celebrate Bettys life will be held on Monday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski and Fr. Art Seaman officiating. Cremation has taken and a private family interment will be held. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Graham Fuchs, Heidi Schellenberg and Bev Murray for their personal care shown to Betty. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
