THOREY SIGVALDASON On Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at the Arborg and District Health Centre, Thorey Sigvaldason, aged 85 years, of Arborg, MB. Born August 31, 1916 at Geysir she had lived in the Arborg-Geysir District all her life. Thorey married Sigmar Sigvaldason on April 10, 1942. Surviving to mourn her, loss two sons and two daughters, Alda (Harold) Foster of Arborg, Marvin Sigvaldason of Peace River, AB, Sylvia Partridge of Oshawa, ON, Don (Juliana Nieuwenhuyse) Sigvaldason of St. Albert, AB; four grandchildren, Roger (Angela) Foster, Erin (Rick) Heise, Ryan Partridge and Alexandra Sigvaldason; three great-grandchildren, Laura and Ivy Foster and Shelby Heise; one brother Helgi Jakobson; sister-in-law Borga Jakobson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Palmi (Christine) Sigvaldason, Steini (Margaret) Sigvaldason, Hulda (Sigmar) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Sigmar in 1980, sister Ingiborg Olsson and brother Bjarki Jakobson. Thorey was a very caring person. She was especially fond of children. She loved her gardening and being outdoors. The family would like to thank the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to Thorey. Following a graveside service at the Haga cemetery, a memorial service will be held at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church at Arborg, MB, on Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor O. Christensen will officiate. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
