Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHARON JONES February 4, 1953 - December 11, 2001 Gently and peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 11, 2001, Sharon passed away at the age of 48. Predeceased by her father Weston and brother Billy, Sharon will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her lifelong friend Rick Lawrance; daughters, Ruth Barth (Bob), and Jennifer Zolinski; grandchildren, Michael and Jordan Zolinski; her mother Lucy; siblings, Karen, Candace, Brian, Heather, Holly, Sheldon; and seven nieces and nephews. Sharon was born in Pointe du Chene, NB. In 1976 Sharon, Rick and the two girls moved to Winnipeg. After raising her daughters, Sharon had a desire to continue her education. She graduated from social work in 1989 at which time she started working in St. Vital for Child & Family Services. Sharon the daughter, sister, partner, mother, friend, aunt, grandmother, social worker. So many roles and responsibilities, but to Sharon, the most important were the relationships that were attached. She valued people, always looked for the best in them and viewed problems and conflicts as opportunities for growth. She was a very complex individual with simple tastes, who had a unique way of viewing the world. Her compassion, ability to relate to others and her sense of humour were evident in all her interactions. Even in her long and courageous battle with cancer, her strength of character, kindness and heart-warming smiles, remained a constant. Sharon touched many lives. She walked the talk. Her integrity and appreciation of the human condition made her a great person. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will carry on. A viewing will take place at the Voyage Funeral Home located at 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Hwy. on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of Sharons life will take place on Friday, December 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Southside Golf Centre, which is located one mile east on Carriere Road just past the floodway off of Highway 59 South.
