ERNEST "ERNIE" RAYMOND GARRONI Mr. Ernest "Ernie" Raymond Garroni, formerly of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer and kidney disease, at the Foothills Medical Centre, at the age of 80 years. He was loved and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Gertrude who has been by his side every step of the way. He will be lovingly remembered by his five children and their spouses, Bob Garroni of Winnipeg, Gerry Cunningham, Barbara and Cam Prefontaine, Donna and Patrick Tetlock, and Wayne Garroni, all of Calgary. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as his sister and her husband in British Columbia, Mabel and Armand Lemire. Ernie was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus and a former Grand Knight and also volunteered his help on many committees. He was a longtime member of St. Lukes Catholic Church Community. He worked for the CPR until his retirement in 1984. His passion was his family and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage and commitment combined with a wonderful sense of humour that will be passed on to his many descendants. Prayers and Tributes were held at St. Lukes Catholic Church on Thursday, December 6, 2001. Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Lukes Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2001, with Rev. Inno Cambaling, presiding. Graveside services followed in St. Josephs Section of Queens Park Cemetery.
