NELLIE (ANASTASIA) PSOOY June 23, 1901 - December 16, 2001 After a brief illness at Fred Douglas Lodge, Nellie, with family at her side, went to meet the Lord. Nellie leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Walter (Phyllis), Emile (Freda), Joseph (Pat), and Doris (Joseph) McAvoy; son-in-law Al Lubinsky; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1971 and daughter Sylvia in 1994. Nellie was born in Horodische, Ukraine, married Nicholas in 1923 and immigrated to Canada to join him in 1928. They homesteaded in Chatfield, relocated to Silver in 1943, and retired to Winnipeg in 1958. Nellie was a resident of Fred Douglas Lodge since February 1998. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Silver with Rev. P. Chorney officiating. The family thanks the staff on Willow for the compassionate care given to our Mom.
