HELMUT RUDI PFEIFFER Helmut Rudi Pfeiffer, aged 79 years, passed away suddenly on December 16, 2001, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Helmut was predeceased by his wife Irmgard; one brother; two sisters, Ella and Herta; and many nieces and nephews in Germany. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Elfriede; sisters-in-law, Maria, Christel, and Munde; brothers-in-law, Hans and Herbert and families. Helmut was born on December 22, 1921 in Lartschin, Poland to Phillip Pfeiffer and Stephania Lauber. He came to Canada in the winter of 1950 and two years later married Irmgard Heymann. He worked at numerous jobs until he chose the career of gardening. He worked at Assiniboine Park as head gardener until retirement in 1982. Helmut was an avid reader and studied religion, philosophy and politics. Through his studies he was often approached for advice by family and friends. Helmut will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helmuts memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
