IOLENE BERNICE LECHNER (nee FORBES) Peacefully, surrounded by family on December 19, 2001. Bernice was born in Hartney, MB. After earning her Teachers Certificate, she taught in the Hartney area before moving to Morden to continue her teaching career. In Morden, Mom met and married the love of her life, Albert Lechner, who predeceased her in 1995. Mom was active in many community groups including Kinettes, Rebecca Lodge, St. Pauls United Church and the Legion. Moms love for music involved her in a dance band as pianist, director of school operettas and music festivals. Her varied interests included reading history, crafts, travelling and bridge. Left to cherish Moms memory are daughters, Valerie and Terry Andrew of Kamloops, Judy and Terry Bourcier of Beausejour, Elaine and Caron Hopfner of Regina and Pat and Bob Ticknor of Steinbach. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Lori, Marek, Scott, Geoff, Todd, Jason, Aiden, Tim, Jill, Dave and Holly; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Nicholas; sister Mildred Hoover and special cousin Evelyn Brimacombe. A celebration of Moms life will be held at St. Pauls United Church in Morden on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m., Jeri Bjornson officiating. Inurnment will take place at Chapel Cemetery, Morden. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. R3C 9Z9. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements. 822-4755
