ALEX ELWOOD EDGAR Peacefully at his residence, Alex passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2001 at the age of 79 years. Alex will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by brother Don (Bernice) as well as many nieces and nephews; stepdaughters, Carole and Claire and their families. Alex was predeceased by wife Alice; brothers, Bill and Jack; and sister Evelyn. He was also predeceased by Edna and Florence. Alex was born in St. Boniface on January 29, 1922 and later served overseas in the R.C.A.F. He was employed for many years at Carling/Molsons Breweries. Following retirement, he enjoyed curling, gardening, and bowling. Alex and Alice enjoyed traveling to many countries, making new friends where ever they went, and participating in many activities together. Alex was a warm and kind man and will be missed by many. Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with a gathering of family and friends in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, R3C 0S6. The family wishes to extend thanks to everyone at Kiwanis Courts for their help, kindness, and compassion.
