STUART GERBER April 14, 1928 - December 23, 2001 Peacefully with his family near his side, Stuart passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Stuart was born in Wilmot Township, ON. He grew up and lived in Baden, ON, where he married Norma Steinmann in 1951. In 1961, they moved to Winnipeg where Stuart began a career with Reimer Express Lines. In 1974 he left Reimers to spend more time with his family and began driving for Steel Brothers, where he worked until he retired in 1992. Stuart enjoyed the outdoors and loved to be out camping, fishing and golfing with his family. In later years, he enjoyed these activities with his grandchildren. He was an avid bowler, enjoying the game for many years. During his retirement, he spent many days building and developing his model railroad. Stuart will be lovingly and sadly missed by Norma, his wife of 50 years; his four children, Bryan (Laurice), Darrell (Sharron), Derrick (Debbie), Melanie (Larry) his sister, Ethleen; and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Brent, Breanne, Bryce, Kathleen, Brittany and Tanner. He was predeceased by parents, Elmer Gerber and Vietta Stover, and sister Doreen. The family would like to express their deep appreciation and thanks to the staff on 3 East of the Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 3428 Portage Ave., with visitation one hour prior to service time.
