Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED GILLESPIE Fred Gillespie passed away peacefully at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, MB, at the age of 102 years, on December 25, 2001. He leaves to cherish his memory one sister-in-law Geraldine Gillespie (John) several nieces and nephews and "my girl" Betty and her family. He was predeceased by his parents, six brothers, three sisters and his beloved Laura. Mr. Gillespie, the last member of a large family, was a proud Canadian farmer all his working years. He also operated a Cedar Camp north of Middlebro for many years. He was a kind and gentle man who always thought of others first. He was able to repair any machinery, and carpentry was an enjoyable task. He also took great pride in the care of his garden and yard. Mr. Gillespie was born July 1, 1899, in Winnipeg to parents of Irish decent. He married Laura Powell on November 22, 1936. Mr. and Mrs. Gillespie lived in their home for 64 and one half years until Mrs. Gillespies passing on July 4, 2001. On November 29, 2001, Mr. Gillespie moved to Villa Youville where he received the care needed to continue his journey on earth. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sprague Baptist Church in Sprague, MB, with Pastor John Klassen officiating. Viewing will take place one hour before service. Interment will follow at the Sprague Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Fred Gillespie may be made to Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, MB.
