Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANASTASIA GRANDA Peacefully, on Monday, December 24, 2001, at Holy Family Nursing Home, Anastasia Granda, aged 99, passed away. Born in 1902 in Chabariuka, Ukraine, Anastasia came to Canada in 1926 to join her husband Yaremko (Dan). Through the many trials that life presented her, Anna remained independent, hardworking and dedicated to her family. As longtime residents of St. Vital, Anna and Yaremko lived on St. Annes Road and enjoyed working the land. The love of the land carried over into her gardening, a pastime which she enjoyed greatly. In later years, Anna found comfort in her religion and time spent with family. Anna was predeceased by Yaremko, her husband of 62 years; as well as her three sons, Julien, Philip and Edward. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gladys; two grandsons, Danny (Laurene) and David (Judy) four granddaughters, Nancy (Bruce), Norine (Norman), Iris (Bob) and Katy (Ron) seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Philip, Sharon, Margo, Nicholas, Adam and Jordan, as well as a great-great-granddaughter Madison. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family for their exemplary care and attentiveness during Anastasias stay. Cremation has taken place with interment to follow at a later date.
