Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA JOY JONSSON (nee COX) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gloria Joy Jonsson, wife, mother and grandmother, on December 27, 2001 at home. Gloria was predeceased by her son Jon and daughter Debbie; parents Gus and Lillian Cox; sister Gertrude Brokke and brother Harold Cox. Gloria will be sadly missed by her husband Lloyd of 52 years; daughter Linda (Brian) sons, Duane (Dawn), Jeff (Raylene) grandchildren, Tamara, Cory, Desi, Bailey and Kassie and many other relatives and friends. Gloria was born in Winnipeg on August 18, 1930 and grew up in Elmwood. She worked at her dads bakery (Coxs Bakery) in both Elmwood and Victoria Beach, MB. It was there that she met her life companion and husband Lloyd. They married on June 18, 1949 and lived in Atikokan, ON for six years, followed by East Kildonan area of Winnipeg for 15 years, before moving to Oakbank, where they have resided for the past 32 years. Mom loved many things in life, among them were her family, flowers and horses. She enjoyed selling her perennials in the spring, riding her horse Shy-Anne and enjoyed the many trips down south and to Riding Mountain National Park where Gloria enjoyed both camping and horseback riding. Mom was a member of the Rossmere bowling league and as well spent many years square dancing - she loved to dance. An accident in 1977 slowed her down, but she fought hard to continue living her life to the fullest. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. in the Church at Pine Ridge, corner of Garven Road and Highway No. 207, with Rev. Ralph Clarke and Rev. Jason Gayoway officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to service time. Interment to follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery. Glorias pallbearers will be Tony Chabluk, Chuck Einfeld, Mernie Einfeld, Tom McLaughlan, Jack McCallum and Darren Hudson. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or to the charity of ones choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
