LOUIS ELIAS VLAHOS Peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2001 with his family by his side, Louis Elias Vlahos passed away. Louis was the loving husband of Maria of 44 years and a wonderful father to Peggy, Peter, and Robert. He was born in Molaoi, Greece, first born of Panagiota and Panagiotis Vlahos and came to Canada as a teenager. He married his sweetheart in Montreal where they started their family. Louis was known for his good heart and made friends wherever he went. He was gentle, kind, and very caring. Louis loved God and his family. He leaves behind his beloved brother Bill (Debby) and their children, Peter and Vicky (Soule) and baby Parry, his sister Catherine of Montreal and her children, Jerry (Mimi) and family, Peter, Poppy (Dimitri) and family, his sister in Greece Eugenia (Dimitry) and family, his mother-in-law in Greece, his sister-in-law Vasiliki (Sammy) and Fivos. Louis will be greatly missed and forever cherished. Prayers will be said on Sunday, December 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave., with Rev. Fr. Dimitrios Gianniou and Rev. Fr. Parry Paraschou officiating. Interment will follow in the Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be son Robert, brother Bill, nephew Peter, friend Jimmy Ginakes godchildren, Cosmas Simeonidis and Irakles Kiriakides. Honorary pallbearers will be his son Peter, and nephew Soule. The family would like to thank Medivan and the Victoria General Hospital, 5th floor for all their loving care and kindness. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Louiss memory to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3P OS2.
