ERMELINDA ODILIA BRAGA RODRIGUES (FURTADO) It is with sadness that the family of Odilia announces her death on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at the Bethania Personal Care Home at the age of 88 years. Odilia was predeceased by her husband John Rodrigues Furtado in April 1991, daughter-in-law Margarida, two sisters and a brother. Left to cherish her memory are her children, John, Tony (Maria Carmo), Natalia (Jaime), Eduarda (Jose), Carmen (Joe), Fatima (John L.), and Amanda (John). Also 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with many friends. Odilia was born on May 19, 1913 in S. Miguel Azores, Portugal. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1967. Odilia was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all of us. The family would like to thank Dr. Welch, the staff at Concordia Hospital and Misericordia Health Centre. Also the staff of Bethania Personal Care Home for the excellent care they showed our mother. Prayers will held on Wednesday, January 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Reverend Father Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating.
