Lena was born on October 31, 1912 in Winnipeg where she spent her entire life except for a few years of nursing outside the city. After graduating from St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing in 1941, she worked for the Department of National Defense and Veterans Affairs for the majority of her nursing career. She retired in 1977 from Deer Lodge Hospital. Lena enjoyed travelling, attending the opera and symphony, gardening, spending time with her friends and relatives, as well as "doing this and that". Lena was an avid reader and always enjoyed discussing current affairs. She greatly enjoyed being entertained by her grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Ave. at 1:30 p.m. with a viewing from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. "The best part of a persons life is not her fame, wealth or ability. The best part of a good persons life is the little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love given to others. You are remembered and respected for the good you do to others." KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
