IRENE MURIEL ROBERTSON Irene Muriel Robertson passed away January 1, 2002 in Richmond Hospital. Predeceased by her husband F.O. Arthur Gold Robertson in October 1947. Also predeceased by sisters, Mame (Gregory), Mona (French), Helen McCullough; and brother Jim McCullough. She will be greatly missed by her son Bryan, daughter-in-law Shirley, grandchildren Sean Robertson and Shelley Evans (Adrian), great-grandson Travis; and sister-in-law Grace McCullough of Ladysmith. Born in Diamond City, AB, raised in Stony Mountain, MB. It was there that she played baseball and met her future husband. They were married in 1940 and spent only a brief time together following the war. Following his death she moved to Winnipeg and devoted her life to raising her son. She was employed by Eatons for 24 years, a member of No. 4 Royal Canadian Legion and the Professional Business Womens Christian Association. Moving to British Columbia in 1987 she enjoyed her retirement, meeting new friends at Apple Green Park, and the past five years at Courtyard Gardens. The family wishes to thank Dr. J. McCreary and the staff of Richmond Hospital for their excellent care during her brief illness and the staff of Courtyard Gardens for their continued support. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richmond Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
