Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELINBORG OLSON It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Amma and Lang Amma, Elinborg (Ella) Olson, at the Betel Nursing Home on January 2, 2002, two months short of her 95th birthday. Ella was doubly blessed to be a significant part of two families. She was born March 10, 1907 at The Narrows, MB, to Sigurdur and Maria Baldwinson and one of 10 siblings. Surviving are Sigrun (now 100 years old), Anna, Snorri, Sella and Kari. Now deceased are Bjorn (Barney), Olof, Tobba, and Inga, her twin sister. There are three others to be remembered, her dear and faithful friends and cousins, Helga Anderson and her children, Valdine and Douglas with whom Mom lived for some years. At age of two, due to her mothers illness, Ella went to live with Gisli and Solrun Johnson at Wapah, MB, as little sister to their children, Ragnar, Loa, Arni and Gisli Jr. It was a temp-orary arrangement that became permanent. There has always been a close and loving relationship with Ragnars daughters, Solrun and Gudlaug (deceased), and son August, and their families. Also with Gislis daughters, Rora, Sola (deceased) and Rocky (Ragnhildur) and her family. Ella was married on July 6, 1929, to Olafur Olson and they made Kirkfield Park their home. She was predeceased by her husband Oli, her son Arni, and great-grandson Kristjan. She is survived by her son Allan (Phyllis) and his children, Jona (Randy) and David (Jennifer), and her daughter Carole (Robert) and her sons, Norman (Darlene), Tim, and Joel (Laurie), and daughter-in-law Colleen. She was very fond and proud of all her eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Dustin, Erik G., Jessica, Kelsey, Erik O.; and all her many nieces and nephews. Though the above relationships may seem somewhat complex, they are held together by the loving care all have had for one another. All will remember her calm and gentle manner and her generosity. Her keen sense of humour persisted to the end. Her whole life was totally and unselfishly dedicated to all her extended family and friends. She was a great Mom, Amma, Lang Amma and good friend. She will be missed. Her family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff for the care and outstanding friendship she received throughout her residence at Gimli Betel Home. A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2002. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ellas name to the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A7. GODA NOTT, ELSKAN Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
