STEFANIA GRODECKI (nee STEFANIA MASIK) It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at Bethania Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB. Born in Poland on November 16, 1907, she immigrated to Winnipeg at the age of 16 where she resided until her death. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Eugenie of Victoria, who will miss her greatly; granddaughters, Heather and Candace; great-grandson, Matthew; great-granddaughter, Marissa; along with family in Poland, the United States, and family friend, Emil. Prayers will be said on Friday, January 11, at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Chaplain G. Friesen and Monsignor W. Cwieka, at Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, at St. Marys Polish National Catholic Church, 361 Burrows Ave., at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor W. Cwieka officiating. Interment will be in the St. Marys Polish National Cemetery. A memorial service for Dear Granny will be held in Victoria, BC, on Friday, January 18, at 4:00 p.m. at The University of Victoria Interfaith Chapel, The University of Victoria. The family extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Bethania Personal Care Home for the excellent care Mother received, but in particular the North Wing nurses and aides for their tenderness and compassion. Also sincere thanks to Dr. Doermer for his kind and thoughtful care of Mother. The tomorrow to come will hide my tears, For the Mother Ive lost and loved so dear.
