WALTER KARL ROTSCHEK June 11, 1934 - January 9, 2002 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Wally passed away in the I.C.U. of the Grace Hospital on January 9, 2002. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 36 years Karin; son Karl; daughters, Angelica and Theresa; brother-in-law Alfred Guenther; brothers William Roucek (Winnipeg) and Karl Rotschek (Gertrude) of Kelowna, B.C.; sister Hedwig Gucwa; niece Monica Roucek and her sons, Michael and Kevin. Wally led a full and rich life with many accomplishments. He attained a 2nd Dan Black Belt in judo with the Manitoba Judo Club and represented the province in several major competitions. He was an Elferrat of Der Treue Husar, a long time member of the German Society of Winnipeg, but first and foremost he was our best friend. He enjoyed his weekends fishing at Tarryall Resort and sharing a beer and a joke with friends around the campfire. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the I.C.U. staff at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion.
