JACOB WALTER "JAKE" SCHMIDT It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jacob Walter Schmidt. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Louise of 55 years, his children, Earl (Nancy), Allan (Wendy), Wayne (Claire), Kurt (Linda) and Marlene (Darrell) his eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Gregory, Michael, Aaron and Andrew Schmidt, Tabatha Malone and Darcel Van Ember. He also leaves one brother Ed and sister Eva Hamm, and stepbrother John Bigourdin, sisters-in-law, Agatha and Helen Schmidt. Jacob was predeceased by parents, Jacob and Helena, brothers John and Abe and brother-in-law Jacob Hamm. Jacob was born on October 31, 1925 in Altona, MB. A dedicated employee of Cara Operations for 30 plus years holding managerial positions in both the Winnipeg and Toronto airline catering operations. A prayer vigil will be held on Sunday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Marys Rd. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 14, also at Christ the King Parish, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Renato Pasinato officiating. Interment will be at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens on January 15 at 11:30 a.m. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the caregivers and caring friends.
