KATHERINE (KAY) HLADKI Our dear mother and best friend Katherine (Kay) Hladki peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at St. Boniface Hospital at the young age of 92. Mother was born in Rockwood Mun., MB on April 27, 1909. Mom was predeceased by her husband William in 1982 and leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Frances (Nick Minishka), twin daughters, May (Harry Quarton) of Summerland, B.C., June (Lou McLaren) and son William (Irene Ostapowich), brother Peter (Josie Tarapacki), five grandchildren, Debra, Linda, Jeffery, Garth and Cameron, five great-grandchildren Charlene, Jennifer, Matthew, Christopher and Charlotte and three nieces and two nephews. For many years Mom enjoyed her involvement with drama and music prior to her association with the Lesya Ukrainian Senior Citizens Choir, of which she was President for many years, and Mom really missed her participation since taken ill. Mom was predeceased by her first grandchild Suzanne, sister Anne, brothers, John of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Mike of Victoria, B.C. A memorial service in celebration of Moms life will be held on Wednesday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. at Aubrey Street. The family gratefully appreciates the services and kindness shown by the Emergency Department of the St. Boniface Hospital and would especially like to thank Dr. Rosser and staff on A-5 for their compassionate loving care.
