Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS CHRISTIAN HAND August 25, 1927 - January 11, 2002 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving father, Thomas Christian Hand. Dad fought a courageous battle against sudden illness that left him bedridden. He received his wish, to pass peacefully in his sleep, on Friday morning. Thomas was predeceased by his wife Sarah, of 26 years, and his brother Alexander. Thomas leaves to mourn his passing his cherished children, Patricia (Brad), Sandra, his son Ross; grandchildren, Justin and Bryan; brothers, Ernest (Doreen) and William (Ruth) niece Carol (Russ) and James (Kristin). Dad was born and raised in old St. James. His years growing up were full of a zest for life and many adventures. By 1949 Dad joined the military and a career that spanned 25 years. He served in Korea from 1950 to 1952 with the 25th Field Ambulance Corp. On return to Canada he was posted to various units. His final posting before returning to Winnipeg was Trenton, ON with the 426th Squadron. Dad was a devoted father to his children. He shared his great love of the outdoors with many camping and fishing trips and travels to various resorts. Dad was a sensitive man who was deeply fond of beauty in the arts and nature. He will be sorely missed for his wit and ability to tell stories. "Farewell for now comrade." We wish to extend our most grateful appreciation to Dr. Pat Harris of Oncology at Grace Hospital, and all the caregivers who were there from beginning to end for our father. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. For Memorys Sake In memory of days gone by, May we cherish them in our hearts and let them fly; on wings of gold in heavens sky. And when memory beckons at our door it will be ours to hold again once more... for memorys sake. Neil Bardal Inc. 949-2200
