RONALD BERTRAND GARRAWAY Peacefully with his family by his side on January 13, 2002 at the age of 81. Ron leaves to mourn his beloved wife Lesley; sons, Terry (Teena), Russell (Cheryl) grandchildren, Kerrie, Kristen, Blair and Ian; sisters, Phyllis (Art) and Marjorie. Ron was born and raised in St. James. During the Second World War he was stationed near Sheffield, England with the RCAF Snowy Owl Bomber Squadron. There he met and married Lesley in 1946. Ron and Lesley settled back in St. James where Ron worked for many years as a bricklayer. During that time he made many life long friendships which he cherished. Ron had many interests which included bird watching, trips back to England and Hawaii, and especially the summers spent at their cottage at Gull Lake boating, fishing and family bon fires. Ron will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and his cheerful personality. The family would like to thank the staff on the fourth floor at the Grace Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. According to Rons wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace General Hospital. The grandchildren will always treasure their memories of riding with Grandy in "Trustyboat".
