COLLEEN STRYNADKA (nee SCHMIDT) Peacefully, after a short battle with cancer, on January 10, 2002 at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, Mrs. Shirley Colleen Strynadka, aged 55 years, beloved wife of Ron Strynadka of Thompson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 114 Cree Rd., with Pastor Bill Martens officiating. Cremation has taken place. Colleen leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Ron; daughter Melissa and son Jay; her brothers, Benjamin (Kim) of Langley, BC, Barry (Dorie) of Winnipeg; sister Nancy (Jack) Langstaff of Abbotsford BC; brothers-in-law, Frank Adams of Kelowna, BC and Dick Masur of Duncan, BC; sister-in-law Margaret Deren of Athabeaca, AB. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian (nee Nesbit) and father Fredrick Schmidt. Colleen was born on April 1, 1946 in Winnipeg, MB. She spent her early years in Moosehorn then moved to Dauphin until moving to Thompson in 1966. She met her Ron in 1970 and they were married in 1973. Colleens family meant everything to her, especially her children. She enjoyed her flowers in the summer and painting on "JUNK" as she called it. Many people enjoyed her art work and she liked the idea that people appreciated her work. Colleen is in the "Garden Of The Lord" and painting for the Lord free of pain and in peace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Colleens memory to the Thompson Zoological Society, 226 Mystery Lake Rd., Thompson, MB R8N 1S6.
