FRANCIS (FRANK) GUNTER Peacefully, after a lengthy illness on Sunday, January 13, 2002, Frank Gunter, aged 80, went to his eternal rest at Victoria General Hospital. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Josephine; daughter Sharon; grand- children, Robert (Lise), Beverley (Diane), Heather (Darwin), Holly, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Pearl; brother Allan and daughter Geraldine. Frank was born in Winnipeg on December 30, 1921. He served his country in the Second World War and was a member of the Armed Forces hockey team. Frank was an avid sports fan and had played hockey, baseball, golf, bowling, etc. throughout his life. He loved to meet his many friends for coffee, scratch and wins, and talking about his family. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family gratefully appreciates the services and kindness shown by Dr. Strachen and the staff of Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

  • Dad played "Softball" for the "Northern Hotel Ukrainian Legion 141, Seniors League " 1950 - 54". The team was inducted into the "Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame" twice in 2005 & in 2006, both induction ceremonies were held at Canada Inns-Polo Park.
