Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEFAN (STEVE) MUCHA Peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, our beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law and uncle, entered into eternal rest at the age of 77 years, with his wife Sophie at his side. Stefan was born on March 22, 1924 in Poland. He came from Poland in 1961 with his wife Sophie and resided in Winnipeg. Leaving to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife Sophie; brother Stanislaw (Chicago) sister-in-law Maria Mucha and her two sons (Germany) nieces, Janina Maciboric, Stefania Janas, Jadzia Thiessen and their families; nephew Stanislaw Wojcik and family; nieces, Maria Zych and Zosia Mroz and family(Poland). Stefan was predeceased by his parents, Jozef and Jadwiga; brother Jozef (Poland) sisters, Michalina and Josepha (Poland), and sister Maria Wojcik. The qualities of kindness, patience and courage describe Stefan. His determination shone through during his struggle with a debilitating disease; frequently he surprised us all by overcoming an almost insurmountable setback, through it all Stefan was committed to Gods promises in His Word. Stefan was an employee and then Foreman at Flynn Roofing Industries in 1963 until his retirement in 1991. Stefan had a very caring heart and found joy in helping others long after his retirement. Stefan and Sophie were soul mates and best friends for 45 years. They traveled together and volunteered their time at Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society, where he was a member since 1964. This companionship was strengthened as they walked through a difficult cancer journey. With Sophie at his side, Stefan faced death in calm assurance as he traveled to his eternal home. Sophie thanks the compassionate staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, the family and many friends for their kindness, patience, understanding and prayers. Also a special mention of thanks to his sister Maria Wojcik who has passed away, but who was instrumental in giving Stefan and Sophie the opportunity to come to Canada.
