Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT LOEWEN GIESBRECHT Peacefully while holding his wifes hand, Albert Loewen Giesbrecht passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2002. Besides his devoted wife Nina, Bert is survived by his daughters, Fay (Don Ernst), and Diane (Lorne Hunter) and by his two perfect granddaughters, Maegan Ernst and Abby Hunter. He is also survived by his siblings, Anna Penner, Katie Toews, Elizabeth Wiebe, Mary Mooney, Minna Goossen, Lottie Mooney, Josephine Barkman, Ernst Giesbrecht and their families. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Gerhard and Elizabeth Giesbrecht; his siblings, George, Jacob, and Edwin Giesbrecht; and by a granddaughter Casey Hunter. Bert was born on July 21, 1910. He spent his early years in Clearspring, MB and later moved to Ste. Anne, MB where he enjoyed a 45 year career with Imperial Oil Ltd. On November 18, 1939 he married Nina Mason, the love of his life. Bert and Nina retired to Steinbach, MB where they continued to enjoy long standing friendships and form new ones. Two of the highlights of Berts life were his roles as father and grandfather. He was always loving, generous, and happy to be spending time with his grandchildren in particular. Thank you to all the nurses, health care aids, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and home care workers who helped to make Berts last years as comfortable and dignified as they could. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinbach United Church, 541 Main St. Ash interment will be at a later date.
