PIETRO COPETTI August 4, 1931 - January 13, 2002 It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Pietro Copetti at 70 years of age. He is survived by his wife Ada in Italy, and children, Doris (Bob), Frank (Darlene), Mauro (Gwen) and grandchildren, Craig, Shannon, Kyler and Keila; along with brothers and family in Italy, and countless friends. Pietro was born in Gemona, Italy, and served in the Italian army, prior to immigrating to Canada, where he first made his way as a shoemaker, before moving on to construction and working as a lumberjack in Northern Manitoba. He eventually had his own subcontracting company working in the swimming pool business, and was one of the originators of swimming pool construction in Winnipeg, working in that field until his retirement. Pietro enjoyed being an active member of the Rockwood A.N.A.F. 303 and will be missed by all its members. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel at 1501 Waverley St. with a private family burial to follow. Pallbearers will be Tarcisio Mardero, Bill Stefura, Pat Werner, Bill Clement, Bob McQuarrie, and Danny Bryant. At the familys request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pietros memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
