UNA LEAVESLEY Peacefully, on January 16, 2002, our dear Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma passed away at the Grace Hospital with her family at her side. Grandma was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Len in 1981. She will be sorely missed by her daughter Kelly (Dean), grandson Kyle, son Kirk, granddaughter Deja, grandson Dirk (Richelle), great-grandson Kai, nephew Brian (Diane and family), as well as her extended family and circle of good friends, especially her friend of 68 years, Spooky. Grandma was born on September 6, 1929 and lived in Winnipeg all of her life. She loved to travel, and had happy memories of the many road trips she made with her family across Canada and the USA. Her most precious memories, though, were of the vacations in Hawaii with her Len. Everyone will remember Grandma as a marathon "shopper" who enjoyed her trips to Grand Forks with Kelly, Debbie and Helen. Even more, we will remember Grandma for her caring heart and loving kindness to her family and friends. She was always there when we needed her. Pallbearers will be Dirk Leavesley, Dean Berezanski, Brian McLaughlin, Jim Srigley, Gerry Ariss and Mike Lesyshen. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, we know that Grandma would appreciate donations to the Childrens Wish Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 21 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Pastor Loren Pullman officiating. All of Grandmas family and friends are invited to get together after the service at Debby and Rheal Clairmonts home at 43 Gardenia Bay. In keeping with her wishes, a private family internment will take place at Brookside Cemetery. "Free at last and at peace with her beloved Len" THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211

  • Probably don’t remember me. Your mom and mine best friends. We sort of grew up together. You came to United States when you were in the military. Irene and Milton. Sorry to hear of mom’s passing. Got nostalgic and happened on this article - Posted by: Lesley Mcgregor (Good Friend) on: Nov 16, 2024
