WILLIAM (BILL) BOYKO Peacefully, at home on Saturday, January 19, 2002, William Boyko passed away at the age of 86. William will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Jean, daughters, Diane Dilay and Linda Boyko; son-in-law Don; grandchildren, Larrisa of Toronto, Christopher and Jerrold; sisters, Anne Zacharki, Tillie Yanisiw (Stanley), and Jenny Marko (Mike) brother Peter Boyko; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Mary; sisters, Tena Ryback and Nellie Chomitsa. William was born and raised in the hamlet of Skylake, MB. In 1944 he met and married Jean Gawinski. After a short stay on the farm, they moved to Winnipeg. William was employed with Air Canada for 32 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and was known for his love of handiwork, fishing, and enjoyment in taking care of his yard and home. Bill will be cherished and loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Dilay, Jerrold Dilay, Brad Middleton, Billy Yanisiw, Tony Zasitko and Steve Halabura. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg. There will always be a heartache And often a silent tear, But always precious memories Of the days when you were here.
