CRAIG HOLKE Peacefully, after a valiant fight with cancer, on January 22, 2002, at the Riverview Health Centre, Craig passed away with his loving wife by his side. Craig was born in Winnipeg on July 25, 1927. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Shirley, four daughters, eight stepchildren, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Craig served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He was a member of the Imperial Veterans Legion Branch 84. He was employed for a number of years in California before returning to Winnipeg in 1976 to become self-employed. A memorial service to celebrate Craigs life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. Private interment will take place at a later date. As Craig was a proud Little Black Devil, in lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in his memory be made to Royal Winnipeg Rifles Cadet Corp. No. 2295, 969 St. Matthews Ave., Room 14, Minto Armouries, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0J7. The family would like to thank the staff at 3 East Riverview Health Centre, St. Boniface Palliative Care, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, for the love and compassion showed during Dads stay.
