MARY W. McQUAID (Willi Pineau) July 29, 1939 - January 24, 2002 Peacefully, after a courageous battle, this warm, compassionate mother, grandmother and friend of the community passed on her way. Known by most as "Willi", this respected member of the Manitoba nursing community tirelessly assisted the sick and the needy in Winnipegs North End and throughout the city. Although she will be sadly missed by her sons, her daughters, her grandchildren and her countless friends, Willis acceptance of her calling made her transition less painful. Her striking white hair and big blue eyes, her incredible smile and unique sense of humour, and even a bowl of Willis chili, all combined to make her a unique and wonderful person. The family will gather privately to remember her. An announcement will be made in early March for a public celebration of her life to be held later that month. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
