DUGALDA ANN ROBINSON (JACKSON) Following is the history of Dugies life word for word as written by her... My Journal. D. Robinson I was born in 1911 on March 30 at my grandmothers home in Douglas, Manitoba. We lived at Gravelbourg, Sask. and were just visiting there. When I was 6 or 7 we moved to a farm in Manitoba near Wawanesa. Went to school in Methven till Grade 6 -- moved to Manitoba near Minitonas. In 1926 father went to The Pas to work for Pas Lumber Co, and we moved into Minitonas where I spent my high school years. In 1929, I went to Brandon Normal School and trained as a teacher. In 1930, I began to teach in Novra, Manitoba. Stayed for 6 years. In 1936 moved to Mafeking and taught there for four years. Met Norman Robinson while there, and we were married December 30, 1940. Spent one year in Flin Flon, then moved to The Pas and have resided there ever since. Norman died in 1962, the very year I resumed teaching in Kelsey School. Our three children were born in The Pas. Joan, William, and Dugald. I remained teaching til 1977. Retired. Moved into Northern View Lodge in 1978. I enjoyed my retirement playing golf, darts, pool and cards, and visiting my family. I now have six grandchildren, Wade, Jodee, Marcie, and Scott, Jeff and Leigh. And three great grandchildren, Brett, Kellen, Gage. I have been a member of The Royal Purple Lodge since 1945, and was honored for fifty years of service in 1995. I was Honored Royal Lady four times. Dugalda Ann Robinson Dugie passed away Thursday, January 17, 2002 at St. Anthonys Hospital, The Pas, aged 90 years. She is survived by her daughter Joan Wenger and husband Reg; sons, William (Bill) Robinson and wife Linda, Dugald (Dug) Robinson and wife Margaret; grandsons, Wade Wenger, Jeffrey Robinson (Mandy), Scott Robinson (Amanda), Leigh Robinson; granddaughters, Marcie Robinson, Jodee Ybarra (Jamie) great-grand-children, Brett Wenger, Kellen Robinson-Otchenash, Gage Robinson; sister Joan Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Dugie was predeceased by her husband, Norman Robinson, 1962. Dugie enjoyed a very healthy life to age 90 and was well known and respected throughout her teaching career. Prayers were held Sunday, January 20, 7:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas. The funeral service was held Monday, January 21, 11:00 a.m., at Westminster United Church, The Pas, with Ven. Grahme Spear presiding. Music Ministry was the United Church Choir and organist, Arlene Baschak. The Order of the Royal Purple held a reception following the service at the Elks Hall Club Room. Following the reception, a private family was held at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas. Honorary pallbearers were (grandchildren), Wade Wenger, Marcie Robinson, Jodee Ybarra (Wenger), Jeffrey Robinson, Scott Robinson, Leigh Robinson, and everyone in attendance. Honor Guard was members of the Order of the Royal Purple. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, Suite 100, 2629 - 29th Ave., Regina, SK S4S 2N9. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, were in care of arrangements. 623-3261.
