MARGARET REID (nee McCARTHY) Resident of Flin Flon and Denare Beach, SK, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2002, in St. Anthonys General Hospital, The Pas. Marg was born on February 23, 1932 in Selkirk, MB and moved to Flin Flon in 1956 when she married her first husband Warren Reynolds. They had one son. Marg married Jack Reid in 1980 and they moved to Denare Beach, SK. After Jacks passing, Marg eventually moved back to Flin Flon. Marg was a hairdresser before she got married and then worked for many years in a dental office in Flin Flon. After she retired she spent her time with Jack and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed painting, tai chi, reading and bragging about her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Centre in Denare Beach for several years. She always had a hug and a smile for everyone and really enjoyed being with people. She is survived by her son, Kirk (Donna) of The Pas; stepdaughter Linda Skipper of Flin Flon and stepson Rick Reid (Michelle) of Denare Beach; brothers, Jack McCarthy (Doreen) of Australia, Austin McCarthy (Dorothy), Marshall McCarthy (Josie), both of Selkirk; sisters, Florence Polson of Winnipeg, Glenna Benson of Selkirk and Joanne Kabel (Bob) of Edmonton, AB. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Reynolds, Jon Reid, Vance, Derek and Matthew Skipper. She had many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many, many friends. At her request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A tea, in her honour, will be held in the spring, the date of which will be announced later. Marg is in a good place and is with all of her loved ones that have passed before her. She believed in angels, and is now one herself. You will be greatly missed Mom, grandma, Auntie Marg. We know you are in a peaceful and happy place where there is no pain. Take care. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
