WALTER MERTON DIEHL On Saturday, January 26, 2002, Walter Merton Diehl of Bowden, AB formerly of Cypress River, MB passed away at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Maud; brothers, Raymond, Stuart, Dewarren and Wilfred. He survived by one brother Art. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Elvina; children, Jocelyn (Harold), Roland (Jan) and Clayton (Lisa) and nine grandchildren, Kevin, Aaron, Colin, Jennifer, Ava, Carl, Megan, Ryan, and Katie. Walter was born on February 13, 1925 at Cypress River, MB and was raised on the family farm. He married Elvina Annell on July 14, 1952 and they continued to operate the farm until April, 1980. Walter and Elvina retired from farming and moved to Cranbrook, BC and later settled in Bowden, AB. A memorial service was held at the Evangelical Missionary Church, Bowden, AB on Wednesday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Enslen officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at the Brookdale Cemetery in Holland, MB at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations in the memory of Walter Diehl can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
