Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREBECCA (NORA) HAYWARD 1904 - 2002 Peacefully, in her sleep, Nora Hayward passed away on Monday, January 28, 2002 at the age of 97. Nora was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1983, brother Norman and sisters, Nancy and Ellen. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Noreen (Les) Everton, son Tom (Gladys) Hayward; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister Ruth of Sooke, BC and many nieces and nephews. Nora was born in England, November 6, 1904 to William and Jane Clifford. They immigrated to Rivers, MB in 1906 and later to Transcona upon the opening of the CNR Shops. Nora was educated in Transcona, later employed by Oldfield, Kirby and Gardiner until her marriage in 1929. Nora lived a full and active life in Transcona, bowling, curling and square dancing. During the depression years, Ed and Nora built their log cabin at Ottermere Lake, ON. She loved the lake and it held her fondest memories. She was a Life Member of the Rebekah Lodge #40 and the Transcona Ladies Curling Club. Nora was an active member of the Transcona Memorial United Church and W.A. The family wishes to thank Park Manor Personal Care Home for the dedicated care given to our mother over the past few years. According to Noras wishes, cremation has take place. A family service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg R2C 1L7. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
