MARY TOMENCHUK Peacefully on January 29, 2002, Mary passed away at the Vita District Hospital at the age of 83 after a short illness with family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband John; her two sons, Billy and Danny; her parents, Anna and William Maxymowich; her brother Nick; sisters, Sophie and Nellie. Mary is survived by her daughters, Ann (Orest) Kohut, Janet (Bill) Sokolyk; four grandchildren, Connie (John) Van Reenen, Tim Kohut, Travis Sokolyk, Candice (Chris) Matthewson; three great-grandchildren, Catherine, Melanie and Emily; and her special friend Jarvis Derewianchuck; three sisters, Kay, Bella, Olga and one brother Walter. Mom was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, always making special dishes for her grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers and vegetable gardens. She was also an avid cross stitcher. We will dearly miss you mom. VICHNAYA PAMYAT The family would like to thank the staff at the Vita District Hospital for her kindness and compassion. Prayers will be held on Thursday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Demetrius Catholic Church in Vita, MB. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, February 1 at St. Johns Ukrainian Catholic Church, Caliento, MB at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Ihor Royik officiating.
