DORIS (BABA) MITCHEL (nee POSALUKO) Peacefully with grace and dignity, surrounded by her family, Mom passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Concordia Hospital. Mom (Baba to most) is survived by two daughters, Martha and Tom Orum and Frances and Garris Smith; one son Norman and Dianne; seven grandchildren, Tom and Johnna Orum, Cole and Jane Smith, Kim and Myles Austman, Pam Orum, Vaughn and Collette Smith, Paige Mitchel, Vanessa and Jason Hintz; five great-grandchildren, Jackie, Justine, Trista, Chloe and Addison; one brother Nick and Monica Posaluko and sister-in-law Annie Posaluko. Mom was predeceased by Dad (Tom) in 1983; son Nicky in 1962 and seven brothers and sisters. Mom was born in Gull Lake, MB on Monday August 16, 1915 and the family moved to Thalberg shortly after. Mom moved to Winnipeg as a young woman, where she met Dad and they were married in 1936. They moved to East Kildonan in 1943, where she has resided ever since. She spent many enjoyable years at the cabin at Gull Lake. Special thanks to Dr. Kuegle and the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care giving and support. Prayers will be held on Sunday, February 3 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, February 4 at 12:00 noon at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Thalberg, MB with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
