Born: Apr 10, 1912
Date of Passing: Jan 30, 2002
Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONY CAREY (TONY) (MEROS KARAKOCHOOK) April 10, 1912 - January 30, 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antony (Tony) at the Maples Nursing Home. He is survived by his son Terry; grandchildren, Lisa and Wayne; sister Mary Dutka; nephews, Dr. William Dutka, Walter Kochan and niece Patricia Zabolotny and many grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Minnie in 1995 and his sister Julia in 1994. Tony was born in Winnipeg, attended St. Johns Tech High School where he played basketball and soccer. Most of his working days were spent at CNR Shops (Stores) with brief stints at the Royal Alex Hotel Coffee Shop and as a cook on CPR trains. He loved working around his home and garden. Because he was very handy he was known as Mr. Fixit by members of the family. He especially enjoyed the time spent at Vermillion Bay. He will be greatly missed by all family members. We would like to express our thanks to Lloyd, his neighbor for the help and many kindnesses he offered Tony. Cremation has taken place and a private funeral service will be held. P. COUTU & CO.
