ALFRED EDWARD (ED) DAVISS Suddenly on Saturday, February 2, 2002 Ed Daviss passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 82. Ed was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Ed is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Vi; his daughters, Alvie (John) Janice; Judy (Rick) and grandchildren Cindy, Debbie and Vicki. He is also survived by sisters, Alberta (Roy) Stabler; Liz (Lee) Thompson; and brother Sidney. Ed grew up in Winnipeg. He spent the war years in the R.C.A.F. as a radar operator. An avid gardener, Ed resided in St. Vital for 54 years, where he took an active part in the community, serving on the St. Vital School Board, as a founding member of the Greendell Community Club and as a longtime member of the St. Vital United Church. A celebration of Eds life will be held on Friday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd. The family extends their gratitude to the Emergency nurses at the Victoria General Hospital for their compassion and kindness.
